Sacco Studios Pet-Themed Mask SOCIAL MEDIA Campaign
When the pandemic started in early 2020, my entire business plan that I made in winter 2019 for 2020 went out the window. I had to figure out how to make my products relevant, unique, and appealing enough to customers who no longer wanted custom pet portraits but something to help them survive this chaotic time.
Once the CDC declared that face masks were the best defense against COVID-19 (before vaccines), I realized I could fill a niche market: pet-themed face masks. Within a week, I bought a sewing machine, taught myself how to sew, and added masks to my shop, which gave me an advantage to hit the ground running before masks became popular to sell.
From March to May 2020, I developed a “FOMO” and “limited drop” Instagram campaign, where I let customers know when my new face masks would be available for purchase each week. I created posts that showed sneak peeks at new fabrics, instructional videos on how to wear them, pictures of my dog with the masks, and other ideas to get theme excited.
This campaign strategy contributed to the following:
-Sold out masks within hours
-50% increase in profits and sales
-Increased Traffic by 50% to online store
